Students open up about how Primavera has turned their education—and their lives—around
This is the first in an ongoing series of stories from students in their own words describing why they chose Primavera and how that choice has made a difference in their lives.
Destiny’s Story: I Want To Make My Daughters Proud!
Hi, my name is Destiny and I’m 19 years old. I didn’t drop out at first. My mom kept moving my siblings and me around, so I could never keep up with school. I didn’t receive all of the credits that I needed in order to graduate my 12th grade of high school, so I chose Primavera. But then I had a job and I decided to stop school.
In May of this year I found out I was pregnant, and in July I found out I was having TWINS! So, it hit me that I really needed to finish school, especially for these twins so I can get a good job afterward. Two weeks later, I started Primavera again and I plan to continue until I finish.
I really want to finish school—not just for me, but for my girls. My brother dropped out his junior year. But I want to make my daughters proud! Primavera works for me because I can do my school work when I want and the hours that I choose to, and that’ll be good for when I’m finishing school or in the hospital when I have my girls! I like the online classes and the live sessions because you still interact with people and your teacher.

Azal’s Story: Just Me, My School, and My Dreams
Hello, my name is Azal. I’ve been in Primavera Online School for almost a year now, and to be honest, I’m loving it! I’m sort of regretting not attending it at first. High school was so stressful for me, especially freshman year. Once I started attending Primavera, I was finally able to get back on track. Personally, I have my own reasons as to why I decided to join Primavera Online School.
The first reason was that I got bullied a lot. No one seemed to understand what I felt because everyone expected so much from you. So, I wasn’t into all the things that the girls in my school did, and I decided to finally do things I liked, which was skateboarding. I got into skateboarding, but it was hard for me to skateboard and go to school. So, I talked to my parents about it and they were cool about it and told me about online school. And I loved the idea of it. I began doing online school, and it was so much easier and relaxing. I would finish my two courses, and then once done I would go out and skateboard. It was perfect and exactly what I wanted.
The second reason was that the teachers at my old school didn’t teach well, and I always thought that I needed someone who actually cared about their students. In online school, the teachers are awesome. There is tutoring and group work and live sessions, which is exactly what I need. If we had a hard time in class, we just have to give the teacher a call, and they help us with whatever we need.
The third reason was my grades. My grades were so bad, it really made me stressed, because the last thing that I wanted was to repeat a class. In my school, I had repeated over three classes and that wasn’t fun. But in my online school, I didn’t have to repeat a thing. My grades were good, and I have learned more and it was easier to focus on classes.
The last reason is that Primavera offers free summer school. In my school, summer classes were about $300. But Primavera Online School had free summer school.
In my personal opinion, Primavera Online School is way better than my old schools because it has helped me get better in everything. I wasn’t judged or made fun of. It was just me, my school, and my dreams. That is exactly what I needed. It also gives out many different courses and options. So, thank you very much, Primavera Online School, for keeping me happy and proud of myself.

K.T.’s Story: Helping Me Catch Up
I used to go to a regular school, but then I started to get very stressed with stuff at home and at school. I was falling so far behind that the school just decided to kick me out completely. Even the other schools around me didn’t want me there. So, a couple of my friends and even my mom said to look at Primavera. At first I wasn’t so interested. I was thinking about Pinnacle or other online schools, but once I got tired of making phone calls and searching, I finally decided to have a look at Primavera.
Not only was I surprised, but also shocked because I thought it was too good to be true. So, I signed up and put in my information. Next thing I know, a nice lady called, then we finished some business. Before I knew it, I was enrolled and was bound to start the next week. So far, I have been keeping up with my schoolwork. I haven’t been feeling so stressed anymore either. Primavera is by far my favorite, and the teachers also watch after you by calling to make sure if everything is okay, if you are behind, and if you need some help when you don’t understand something. Primavera has helped me out in my credits.

Juan’s Story: The Best Option For Me
Hi, my name is Juan. I am a part-time student at Primavera, and in all honesty I really like it! It all started with that one bad grade that made me want to reach for a better grade. I talked to my counselor and after reviewing all my options for a credit I really need for university, we were both convinced that Primavera was the best option. I’m yet to complete my Spanish course but I can definitely just say that I like the style and way of Primavera Online much better than the class I used to be in! All in all, it’s been a big help to me.

Grace’s Story: The Freedom to Learn And Live
Hey, my name is Grace, and I would love to tell my story about how Primavera gives me the freedom to learn AND live. I first heard about Primavera on the radio when I was pretty young, and I remember thinking, “Online school? Sounds weird, and not for me!” And now here I am, LOVING Primavera and all the flexibility it gives me.
I also attend West-Men Central Campus, which is a vocational school for different technical programs. I participate in the coding program, which is amazing. I’m learning how to become a full-stack coder, web developer, and server-side programmer. The combination of West-
Mec and Primavera still gives me the opportunity to learn and have some freedom in my schedule, which I love. I’m also getting college credit! I love how I can be taking regular high school classes right in between periods at my vocational school! Primavera has really changed my life.
